Baseline Artifacts

Baseline artifacts are a subgroup of project management artifacts that is also part of models, methods, and artifacts in project management. A project baseline is the reference point to be able to measure project's performance against the planned one.

Parts of the project management plan can be baselined by being approved by key stakeholders. The baseline is the core of a project. Without a project baseline, it means there is no project as well. As a result, all projects have a baseline and they should be well understood, well communicated, and approved by the key stakeholders.
