Responsibility Assignment Matrix in Project Management

A Responsibility Assignment Matrix, also known as a RACI matrix, is a project management tool used to clarify roles and responsibilities for tasks and deliverables within a project or process. The responsibility assignment matrix is a grid that maps the tasks and deliverables against the roles and responsibilities of project team members.

What is RACI?

RACI simply means Responsible, Accountable, Consulted and Informed. These four roles are assigned to project team members based on their level of involvement and responsibility for a specific task or deliverable.
